EV – Clippard Electronic Valves
Key features of this electronic valve:
Fast response
Capable of a fast response not only to open the valve but in applications that work in a loop such as pressure controllers.
Low noise
There are many applications in which you need a quiet valve, such as medical and analytical applications
Small internal volume
Important when sampling gases
Long cycle life
1,000,000,000 (ideal applications)
How do we achieve the above benefits?
We, Clippard Instruments invented the “spider” and patented it, this deceptively simple design features only one moving part with a mere 0.007" of travel. Clippard's experience, quality, and specialized processes surrounding spider technology have led EV valves to become the industry standard for valve life, reliability, response, and extremely low leak rates.
EV Series Electronic valves
Clippard's original EV series valve design is a deceptively simple arrangement featuring a remarkably quiet, low power operation. The Clippard "spider" is the only moving part, and its motion to operate the valve is a mere 0.007" travel. As a result, this valve features an exceptionally long life—proven to last over 1,000,000,000+ cycles.
Low voltage DC inputs move the spider, generating extremely fast response times of 5 to 10 milliseconds while using only 0.67 watts of power. The EV series is cool running and its compact, lightweight design makes it easy to mount in small spaces.
ES Series Electronic Valves
Applications that care about low leak.
A valve designed for low leak applications, it’s design involves:
- Large cross section O-rings
- Minimal leak points by reducing internal assembled parts.
- All mounting hardware located outside of the flow path.
Best performance-to-price ratio for low leak valves
EHV and EHS High pressure valves
These are small electronic valves specially engineered for reliability in demanding high pressure applications (up to 1,000 psig or 69 bars.)
DV Series
Designed as the next generation of the well-known and trusted original EV Series, the powerful DV Series is compact, quick and built to last—over 1,000,000,000+ cycles! With a solid, compact design and extremely high flow rates, 2 way valves up to 100 lpm @ 100 psig
ST/SV Series
These direct actuating valves offer an extremely fast response time for accurate dosing of minute volumes with the same long life you expect from the original Clippard EV line of electronic valves, now in a 7 mm cartridge package. Due to very low moving weights, they are extremely quiet and emit very low vibration. Subminiature size and low energy consumption make them ideal for transportable and mobile systems, among others.
Isolation valves
An isolation valve is a valve that the media is not in contact with actuation mechanism of the valve. A perfect example is a pinch valve in which the media doesn’t touch the media because it goes the media goes inside the tube.
In Clippard we not only have pinch valve but also PTFE and PEEK isolation valves who are chemical resistant that makes them perfect for analytical instrumentation.
Key features in Clippard Isolation valves
- All wetted materials are PTFE. Also, PEEK available for higher pressure
- Low power
- High Quality
NIV Series Media Isolation Valves
NIV Series Media Isolation Valves are solenoid-operated devices that use a flexible diaphragm to isolate the actuation mechanism from the fluid path. Media isolation valves are commonly used for a wide variety of applications, including those that require precise, repeatable dispensing of media for analytical instrumentation. All wetted areas of the valve are PTFE, making this series ideal for use with corrosive media.
NPV Series Electronic Pinch Valves
The NPV Series Pinch Valve is a solenoid-operated device that is designed to open and close tubes for controlling flow of liquids and gases. While other types of valves have internal passages that may cause small amounts of fluid to remain in the valve, pinch valves have no areas or dead volume where fluid can become trapped. Only the inside of the tubing contacts the fluid.

Clippard’s Maximatic Solenoid valves are available in 2-way, 3-way and 4-way configurations in port sizes from #10-32 to 1/2” NPT.
Select either a direct-acting poppet or solenoid-controlled pilot operated balanced spool design. Spool valves are body ported but can be bolted to a parallel circuit manifold.
These electronic valves offer high flow in a small package, and are constructed of aluminum, stainless steel and thermoplastic materials. The 4-way valves are also available in 3 position versions with either pressure center, closed center or exhaust center spool options
Cordis – Electronic pressure and Flow control
The Clippard Cordis is a revolutionary microcontroller primed for escape velocity from a proportional control market that has grown stagnant. Built with the highest quality Clippard EVP and DVP proportional valves at its heart, the Cordis is designed to outperform the competition in every way. With unparalleled performance and flexibility not possible with current analog proportional controllers, the Cordis makes everything from calibration to sensor variety acceptance to future development opportunities more accessible and less complicated. The future of proportional control has arrived, and it’s digital.
Cordis Electronic pressure controller
Cordis electronic pressure regulators utilize Clippard's proven EVP and DVP lines of electronic proportional valves to allow for steady, repeatable downstream pressure as demand or processes change. The result is precise linear pressure control within a closed-loop system, with ultra-high resolution and repeatability.
Smooth linear control, Real time adjustable PID control, Multiple flow configurations Static or dynamic applications with the same proportional regulation, no integral bleed required, Customizable pressure ranges and mounting options
Cordis Electronic Flow Controller
The Cordis flow controller utilizes an extremely fast-reacting mems technology sensor upstream from a proportional valve, with the option of a DR-2 regulator for accurate and precise pressure control in a small package. Unlike other mass flow controllers that require a 30-minute warm-up time, large differential pressures, and limited flow ranges, the Cordis requires less than one-minute warm-up, its pressure drop is ≤14" H2O, and it features flow ranges as low as 0 to 15 lpm. Standard control options include 0.2 to 10 VDC, 4.32 to 20 mA, and 3.3 VDC Serial.
Manual and directional valves
Every air system is unique . . . and Clippard has the air valve you need. Clippard control valves are available in poppet or spool design; 2-, 3-, or 4-way functions, with metric or imperial. They are available with solenoid, air pilot, manual and mechanical actuators. Mounting styles include in-line, panel mount, manifold mount or clearance holes for mounting screws.
Check Valves

Electric & Pneumatic Switches
Air operated electric switches convert air pressure to an electrical signal, providing an interface between pneumatic systems and electrical controls.
Exhaust Valves
Quick exhaust valves are primarily used to increase cylinder cycle speeds. Clippard J-Series quick exhaust valves also enable the use of smaller directional control valves and longer control lines, and can be used as a shuttle valve. These quick exhaust valves feature a compact, durable brass construction with molded Nitrile seals.
Flow Controls
Clippard offers four styles of adjustable flow controls with #10-32 through 3/8” NPT ports.
They are an ideal valve for use with a cylinder, providing a slow extend stroke while allowing a fast retract stroke. Flow controls are also used in delay functions when using air piloted valves.
Mufflers
Mufflers are recommended for the purpose of controlling exhaust noise or speed. Clippard Silencing Mufflers and Speed Control Mufflers feature durable brass bodies and utilize porous sintered bronze air mesh to reduce air exhaust and control the flow rate from valves, cylinders and other pneumatic products.
Pressure Regulators
Regulators are offered in either relieving or non-relieving versions. The relieving design maintains a constant pressure output even when downstream conditions change, while non-relieving regulators do not automatically compensate for changes in downstream flow or pressure. A variety of adjustment options and mounting styles are available.
Shuttle Valves
Shuttle valves allow flow from one inlet to the outlet while blocking the other inlet. These poppet type "double check" valves feature durable brass bodies and Nitrile seals
